The final numbers for OSHA’s annual list of top violations are in. Can you guess the top 10 safety hazards that OSHA cited for fiscal year 2014?

OSHA revealed a preliminary top 10 list earlier this year at the annual National Safety Council (NSC) 2014 Congress and Expo in San Diego. But since then, a few violations have traded slots on the list, and the number of violations has increased.

Notable changes in this most recent lineup are that lockout/tagout has moved down from the number 5 spot to number 7, ladder hazards have moved up from number 8 to number 5, and wiring methods have moved down one slot from number 7 to number 8.

Here’s the final list of OSHA’s most popular cited safety standards, along with the number of issued violations, from October 2013 to September 2014:

  1. Fall protection — 7,120
  2. Hazard communication — 5,461
  3. Scaffolding — 4,543
  4. Respiratory protection — 3,229
  5. Ladders — 2,776
  6. Powered industrial trucks — 2,770
  7. Lockout/tagout — 2,707
  8. Wiring methods — 2,447
  9. Machine guarding — 2,162, and
  10. Electrical — General Requirements — 2,080.
